1kg equates to between 6 and 8 portions depending on your appetite, the product and how you prepare it.

About Fresh Fish?

How fresh is your fish?

Our fish is as fresh as it is possible for it to be we believe. We do not have any stocks of fish and we only order our fish the day before it is due for delivery. Our fishmonger; who we have dealt with for over 10 years, prepares your fish on the morning of delivery and they box it up and pack it on ice for us to collect at lunchtime we then deliver it to you that afternoon so that’s how fresh.

About Chicken?

Is your chicken free range?

Most of our chicken is not free range! This is a deliberate choice driven by a number of factors including the fact that “free-range” does not mean what most consumers think it means and offers very little change in the way that the chickens live.

We found that the more important factors in getting great value for money and great tasting chicken was the fact that our chicken does not have any water or chemicals injected which means they don’t shrink excessively when cooked. Coupled with our breasts being 7/8oz in weight, which means they come from healthier, stronger and longer lived birds, means that you get great vaklue for money and great tasting chicken.

Our whole chickens are free-range grain fed birds direct from the Yorkshire farm where they are reared.

About Beef?

Who prepares your beef?

We work with a traditional family master butcher and him and his team prepare and pack all your beef to order on the morning of delivery for us to collect at lunchtime and deliver to you that day.

About Lamb?

Where is your Lamb from?

With Lamb we always endeavour to supply Lincolnshire Lamb but sometimes depending on the time of year and cut that you require we may substitute this for best quality Lamb from other area’s if necessary.

About Pork?

How long is your Pork hung for?

Traditionally Pork has not been hung in the same way as Beef or Lamb for prepartion though there is a move towards hanging for a short period of upto a week. This helps to develop flavour and creates better value for money as there is a reduction in moisture content during hanging.

What cuts of bacon can i buy?

We supply 3 cuts of Bacon all of which are dry cured so you get less shrinkage, weight loss and froth when cooking. You also get substantially better flavour. The 3 cuts are shortback, smoked shortback and streaky.
